X Factor 2012: Union J invoke the spirit of One Direction for Bleeding Love / Broken Strings performance (VIDEO)

Union J got slated after their performance on last week’s X Factor show, so they were hoping for much better things this evening.
The judges were distinctly unimpressed by the four piece boyband last Saturday, although Tulisa, Nicole and Gary did admit that most of the blame for the below par rendition of Queen’s ‘Don’t Stop me Now’ lay with their mentor Louis Walsh, who they berated for his dated song choice.
This week the lads assured us that the former Westlife boss had got it right and chose an ‘amazing’ track for them to put their stamp on.
They met One Direction before the live show, with Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson telling telling them to ‘be themselves’ and have fun. It was clear from the VT that bosses are hoping to style these lads into the next 1D….and if we remember correctly, they weren’t overly strong at the start of their series either.
The lads performed Leona Lewis’ ‘Bleeding Love’ this evening and we have to admit it was 100 times better than last week’s effort.
The harmonies were on point and we loved how they mixed the track up with James Morrison’s ‘Broken Strings’ at the end. It was tight, the lads looked great in their autumnal wear and we don’ think they’ll have a problem getting through tomorrow night.
JUDGES COMMENTS:
Gary Barlow: What a total transformation from last week. Louis really let you down last week, did Kye help you with this song tonight? In future don’t listen to Louis, listen to Kye.
Louis Walsh: You worked so hard this week and it paid off. You are like a new group. You could be the next big boyband in the UK if you work hard.
Tulisa: Much better than last week. You have a really strong female following so you have a lot of potential in this competition.
Nicole Scherzinger: I hate to be the one to break it to you but you got everything right this week. You stripped everything back Louis.

overhyped and underperforming
Fantastic.
I don’t want another 1D. I want another unique band! Please PLEASE don’t style Union J into a 1D, because a) they will never ever reach the bar set by 1D and b) they will be RIPPED APART by many loyal Directioners who do not want another 1D.
They have talent and lots of it. But they shouldn’t try to be just like 1D. They will never be 1D. They can however be a very successful boyband without being 1D. One Direction isn’t like all of the bands before them that were popular and look at them now. Union J can still be really popular without being One Direction’s twin.
Look I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with union j but I’m just saying one direction are amazing and have a lot of fans so you shouldn’t try copy them just because Louis thinks if he makes them good looking like 1d then it’ll make him win then he’s wrong because union j would be hated by so many directioners no one would like them in the end so stay unique dont try copy 1d PLEASEEEE!!!!!! P.s invade you didn’t know ONE DIRECTION ARE AMAZINGGGG!!!!!!
