X Factor 2012: Yoko Ono tweets ‘I Love You’ to ‘exhausted’ Jahmene Douglas!

Jahmene Douglas has not only won the support of the British public, but he has also been attracting some attention from some worldwide superstars it would seen.

The former shelf stacker gave his first live performance on Saturday night’s episode of the ITV show and wowed the judges – most of them anyway – with his rendition of John Lennon’s ‘Imagine.’

After his song, Tulisa Contostavlos raved:

“You have one of the strongest male vocals this competition has ever seen. That blew me away, well done.”

It seems that the wife of the late Beatles star enjoyed his take on the tune too, as yesterday Yoko Ono tweeted Jahmene, saying”

“I just saw & heard a recording of @JahmeneDouglas singing Imagine on #XFactor UK – it was beautiful, Jahmene! I love you! yoko”

Douglas was stunned by the tweet and told his own followers:

“My hearts all a flutter after reading a Tweet from Yoko Ono herself :-O still in disbelief. ♥ So thankful.
“IMAGINE PEACE: Think peace, act peace, spread PEACE.”"

Yoko may have been a big fan of Jahmene, but Gary Barlow wasn’t so enthusiastic on the night and like many people on Twitter, felt that the former Asda staff member over sang the song a little.

Douglas is putting last weekend behind him and moving on to preparing for thisSaturday’s show. He and his mentor Nicole Scherzinger are currently choosing a song that will fit with the love and heartbreak theme and speaking on The Xtra Factor, he admitted:

“I’m exhausted but I’m just raring to go and to perform again.”

This afternoon the hopeful joined his Team Nicole pals Rylan Clark and James Arthur at the Radio 1 studios and shared this picture with his fans.

It seems that Scherzinger is getting her boys out and about and whipping up support, which is probably a good plan after the elimination of talented singer Carolynne Poole last weekend.

Bookies have tipped Jahmene as one of their front runners on this year’s X Factor series and think that the only person providing real competition to Douglas, is 16 year old songstress Ella Henderson.
