Ashley Roberts has revealed that she would love to join her former bandmate Nicole Scherzinger on The X Factor next year.
The blonde beauty has made quite a name for herself in the UK, ever since taking part in I’m A Celebrity on ITV in November. The former Pussycat Dolls singer and dancer finished in second place in the jungle based series and went on to land herself a judging role on Dancing On Ice in January.
The US star is eyeing her next move and she has admitted that she’d definitely be interested in replacing Tulisa on the X Factor and in working with Nicole again.
She told Digital Spy:
“[X Factor would] be awesome. I haven’t heard anything in that direction though, but it’d be fun.
“[Nicole and I] made a good team before, so I think we could do it again.”
However, she may have a bit of making up to do with Nicole first if she does want to take a seat next to her on the singing show, because she recently admitted that the brunette beauty was a bit overpowering when they last worked in the girl group together. She told her I’m A Celebrity campmates:
“Only Nicole was allowed to talk, we would occasionally pitch in.”
Former band member Carmit Bachar, recently claimed that Nicole’s envy of Ashley was one of the main issues that led to the group’s split.
She told The Sun:
“Nicole was jealous of Ashley. She felt threatened by her — like people would prefer her because of the way she looked.
“Ashley had that iconic American thing going on — blonde hair, blue eyes. It was the look Nicole seemed to want but could never have.
“No one could understand why Nicole was so jealous. She was an exotic beauty with a look that most girls would kill for.”
Sources previously claimed that if Ashley didn’t land a job on the main ITV show, she could find herself replacing Olly Murs on the Xtra Factor. Speaking late last year they said:
“Her representatives have been inundated with offers of work and she could become a household name in Britain now she has stepped out of the shadow of Nicole and the rest of the Pussycat Dolls.
“X Factor would be her dream gig, but if she couldn’t make it on to the main show, she would be perfect for the Xtra Factor on ITV2.”
