The panel has been confirmed, the preliminary auditions have taken place and tomorrow the X Factor judges begin their work!
Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow and Nicole Scherzinger will take their seats at the judges’ table together for the first time as the nationwide audition tour begins in Glasgow.
Simon Cowell recently confirmed his lineup, revealing that Sharon would be making a comeback after a five year break and would be replacing Tulisa Contostavlos on the ITV show. After all the furore surrounding Tulisa over the last few days, we’re sure he’s glad he made that call now.
Gary revealed this morning that he will be Scotland bound later today and tweeted:
“Morning all ! Got a few hours of music and then we’re off to Glasgee! Nice day for flying !”
Meanwhile, in a new interview Sharon has been spilling the beans on her return and she told her co-stars on US chat show The Talk:
“It’s the tenth year of X Factor in the UK and I started out the show with Simon. Simon is the creator, the producer, he’s the God of it all.”
“I started it out with him and was there for the first four years that built the show. Then the show became a huge world-wide brand and it’s the tenth anniversary and Simon asked me to go back.”
The mum of three hinted that this may be a one series only deal though and continued:
“It’s kind of like a high school [reunion]. That’s what it’s like. I go back, I see it’s still the same fabulous crew after ten years. It’s just like I am revisiting ten years ago for one season.”
Sharon isn’t planning to leave the US chat show and insisted that she will be travelling back and forward between the UK and America and working on both shows for the rest of the year.
“[There is] one thing I want to make clear,” she said. “None of those ladies out there that want to be host on this show pick up the phone, because this seat is not vacant. All those agents that are going to ring CBS and say ‘oh I’ve got a gorgeous lady for this seat’ don’t bother! It’s taken.”
“I feel like the luckiest woman in the world,” Osbourne continued. “My husband is sober, I have the best children, and I have the best jobs in the entire world and I kind of think my life is too good right now.”
Are you looking forward to The X Factor’s return? Will you be at the auditions tomorrow? Northern Irish hopeful Matthew McCrum is and he’s revealed that he will be one of the first singers to perform for the new panel tomorrow in the Scottish city.
