Gary Barlow isn’t finding Sharon Osbourne too easy to work with he’s revealed and he admitted that the reality TV matriarch has been a little ‘mad’ at the auditions to date.
The judges all showed up for the latest round of tryouts at London’s Wembley Arena yesterday and the Take That star admitted that Shaz let him know very quickly that she wasn’t going to be messed around, and she broke his head judge mug as soon as she laid eyes on it.
The music manager is well known for her quick temper and once drenched Louis Walsh in water when she disagreed with him over one hopeful.
Gary seems to have great affection for Ozzy Osbourne’s wife though and he told Metro:
‘She’s completely taken my head judge mug, she’s smashed it. We’ve got the queen with us and it does feel like you’re in the room with royalty.’
However, as fond as he is of Shaz, he can’t get in between her and her BFF Louis Walsh and Gaz revealed that the pair are already picking on him and Nicole Scherzinger. They are teaming up against the younger stars and the dad of three said:
‘They’re already ganging up on me and Nicole. It’s artists versus managers.’
It was reported recently that Gary is planning to leave the ITV show at the end of the current series, paving the way for Simon Cowell’s return.
However he refused to confirm reports that he is stepping down to concentrate on his own music career and the resurgence of Take That and said:
‘It’s far too early to think about next year, it’s all about this year.’
Gary and his colleagues saw plenty of talent in London yesterday and the tryouts will continue in the nation’s capital all week.
He thinks we could be in for a treat with the groups category this year and admitted that he would love to mentor the people that he thinks could follow in the footsteps of One Direction or Little Mix.
‘At this point I think the groups are the strongest this year. We’ve never seen the groups looking so strong. But if there was a category to have, I think it would be that one.’
