Gary Barlow has admitted that he is a little worried that he’ll be attacked by haters, as his boss Simon Cowell was recently.
The music mogul was egged on the live final of Britain’s Got Talent by a viola player, as one act performed for the last time on the ITV series.
Gary takes the head judge seat on the X Factor panel and he’s concerned that he will suffer the same fate when the live shows begin later this year. he told Metro:
‘It’s a worry that, isn’t it? I mean I know she was only throwing eggs, and that’s fine.’
‘I’ve never had eggs thrown at me….’
Gary returns for his third year on the ITV panel and is joined once again by Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh, who returned when auditions kicked off last month. The Take That star has never worked with Sharon Osbourne before though and he revealed that he was worried when she was hired at first, as he thought she might take over entirely.
Speaking about Mrs O, he admitted:
‘She’s the queen. She’s back. It’s so good to have someone who has done so much TV work because she is totally at ease and she has brought out the worst in all of us,’ he said.
‘The one thing I was dreading though was Sharon coming back and just stealing the whole thing and that’s not her style at all.’
Gary wants Simon Cowell back in some shape or form this year and he thinks the viewers do too. He admitted that he told the X Factor boss that he should make an appearance during the 2013 run and added:
‘I sat with him this year to talk about the show, the one thing I said was “I think the viewers want you somewhere in this show” because at the end of the day, I’m not the boss of the label in London.’
‘We’d love at any point for him to be involved and show up at boot camp or judges’ houses or wherever. He’s always up for it.’
Gary updated his Twitter account yesterday to thank the hopefuls who performed for him and the panel in London. It seems there was quite a lot of talent on display and he tweeted:
“Another great day of auditions ! Thank you for 2 great audiences #XFactor”
Sharon obviously loves the dad of three and shared this picture of them cuddling with the caption:
“Happiest judging panel on TV!”
