The X Factor winner has been busily beavering in the studio for months, ever since the show’s tour ended in February and steadily working on original material for his first record.
The singer songwriter was signed to SYCO after winning the ITV series in December 2012 and it is expected that his album will be released this summer.
He has been joining forces with some experts in the industry and Arthur revealed last night that he and the’Beneath Your Beautiful’ singer have been collaborating on some tracks and he tweeted:
“Good times makin music with @Labrinthda1st #jamminwithidols”
Labrinth told The Daily Star recently:
“I love James. Hopefully we’ll get in the studio and do something. I don’t know if it’ll be for my album or his but we’re excited to work together.”
Lab tweeted this photo yesterday, writing:
“jamesarthur23 great session bro!”
James has also been working with Emeli Sande’s long time collaborator Naughty Boy and the star teased some of their song lyrics this week, writing:
“forget who i used to be this is who i plan to be @JamesArthur23 @MicRighteous”
An insider recently revealed that the new album – which is thought to be coming out in July 2013 – will be an ‘emotional’ one and they told Heatworld:
“Some of the songs have got a real Boyz II Men r’n’b vibe to them.”
“There are also some quite emotional tracks. He’s written about his family, in particular about how close he is to his sisters.
“He’s surprisingly sensitive and has really poured his heart and soul into the lyrics.”
