Fans of former X Factor finalist JLS, and specifically band member Aston Merrygold, will know that he is a judge on Sky1’s Got to Dance, however, he’s revealed that he’d love to become a judge on X Factor too.
Speaking to What’s On TV, Aston said, “[X Factor] is the show myself and the boys came from so it would be an honour to be a judge on that show.
“I’ve been in the industry long enough now to know what’s right and wrong and I’ve got a good eye for talent, as we’ve seen from the last series of Got To Dance, so yes, definitely.”
He added, “If you look at the line-up of that show, it’s always got a fantastic panel.
“I don’t know who’s on the panel this year, but they always get it right. In terms of entertainment, it is flawless.”
Well I guess this year would be a good time for him to make his bid to become a judge given that as of right now, only Louis Walsh and Gary Barlow are – reportedly – returning…
It has of course been widely speculated that former judge Sharon Osbourne is returning and will replace Tulisa, however, as we reported last week, sources close to Sharon reckon she might be getting cold feet about the idea of returning given that it would mean being in the UK for months and therefore away from her kids Jack and Kelly, who are in the States.
And of course, dad of one Jack is suffering from Multiple Sclerosis, and Kelly had a health scare recently when she collapsed and had a seizure on the set of her E! network show, The Fashion Police.
So if Sharon does indeed pull out of the deal with Simon Cowell, would you like to see Aston brought in instead?
Here’s a reminder of him on X Factor…
