X Factor 2013: Melanie McCabe or Tamera Foster to win?

melanie mccabe x factor

Melanie McCabe has been propelled into joint favouritism to win this year’s series of X Factor, according to Ladbrokes.

The Dubliner not only impressed the judges but also the bookies this weekend and Melanie is now the joint 6/1 favourite to be crowned X Factor winner, with Tamera Foster sharing the same odds.

Abi Alton finds herself next in the betting as a 7/1 shot, whilst there’s 8/1 on offer for shy singer Sam Bailey to overcome her fears, however it’s as big as 16/1 before the first male enters the market, with Luke Friend taking the honours.

Over on BBC One, Natalie Gumede has continued to be backed by punters, and despite not even dancing yet her odds have been backed into just 5/2 after being paired with Artem Chigvintsev, including one wager of £800 at 4/1.

Tamera Foster 3

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “The odds suggest it’s a case of fourth time lucky for Melanie. It’s early days but it’s already looking like a two-horse race between her and Tamera.”

She added: “Punters are convinced Natalie’s already won Strictly and if the momentum continues her odds will plummet even further.”

For me if Melanie lets loose with her full vocal ability then all bets are off – she is one of the most talented singers in quite a while on the show. A case can also be made for tamera, I see the potential, in her case it is whether she can fulfill it.

I think Melanie will not make the live shows… the thing is, I truly believe that the big drama this season will be between her and Jade Richards… clearly one of them will make the live shows. They are showing her as a big comeback and Jade as falling flat, however, as far as I read somewhere on the internet, Jade’s performances during bootcamp were far better than Melanie’s. For me Jade would make the live shows, and I really believe that she has the chances to win it. If Melanie makes the live shows, she will have the same fate as Janet Devlin (fairly) and Ella Hendersen (unfairly), I mean, big hype at the begining and then kicked out really soon…
