X Factor 2013: Nicole Scherzinger struggles in Birmingham but Gary Barlow had a ‘great day’
Poor Nicole Scherzinger struggled when the X Factor team rolled into Birmingham earlier this week.
The US star looked absolutely stunning in the short and suggestive monochrome dress she’d chosen for the occasion and looked at ease on the red carpet as she posed and smiled for the hundreds of waiting fans and photographers.
However, she admitted that she was having some difficulty with the local dialect and also with pronouncing the name of the city and told the crowd:
“I can’t pronounce Birmingham.”
Always willing to help, a crowd of Brummies screamed at the brunette beauty, yelling: “Birm-ing-ham!”
She repeated it after them, laughing:
Gary Barlow was in high spirits too and was hopeful that they would find a diamond at the second audition session of the year. Before he entered the hotel with Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh he revealed:
“I love being in Birmingham!”
Gary later tweeted his fans telling them what a great day he’d had, posting:
“Thank you Birmingham ! Great day of auditions ! #XFactor”
The X Factor auditions are running to a different format this year and hopefuls are beginning their journey by performing for the panel in a small hotel room, while singing acapella. It’s only the best singers at this stage that win passes to the next round, which will see them trying out in front of a large audience later in the summer.
The judges will hit Manchester, London and Cardiff next in their tour, before the arean auditions begin in the capital next month.
