Olly Murs has revealed that he would love to see Sharon Osbourne back on The X Factor.
The reality TV matriarch left the show in 2008 because of a feud with then judge Dannii Minogue but recently revealed that she would love to make a comeback and be reunited with her old pal Louis Walsh. Insiders have claimed that show boss Simon Cowell is currently trying to decide between Sharon and former Spice Girl Mel B for the new panel and Olly thinks he should opt for the older star.
“I love Sharon Osbourne – it would be great to have her back,” he told The Huffington Post.
Olly has presented on The Xtra Factor for the last two years, though recently hinted that he won’t be taking on a third series. He became good pals with judge Gary Barlow on the ITV show and wants to see him back, but he’d also love to have his Take That bandmate Robbie Williams joining him. Murs added:
“It would be great to have her and another girl on the panel but I’m not too sure who. Definitely Robbie and Gary Barlow though – that would be pretty cool.”
We’re not surprised that he’s backing Robbie as Olly will soon be hitting the road with the new dad, and supporting the star as he tours the UK’s arenas later this year.
He is also trying to crack America and so may not have time to return to the ITV 2 spinoff show with Caroline Flack. However, he’s refusing to rule it out just yet.
“We’ll see what happens. Never say never. I’ve always sat on the fence – it looks unlikely but you never know what might happen,” he said.
“I think things will get confirmed in the next month or so as auditions will start in the next few months.”
Olly is making the most of his time off screen this week it seems and he was nursing a hangover yesterday after what sounded like a crazy night out in Glasgow.
Murs was performing in the Scottish city and admitted:
“Last night is a Night I’ve never forget!! #hangover3 what a place for a night out!! #loveliverpool #stillfeelsick”
“Haven’t had a hangover in a long time.. I forgot how horrible they are.. Struggling today massively! No going out in Glasgow tonight then..”
