Relley Clarke has admitted that she thinks Nicole Scherzinger made some dubious decisions at X Factor bootcamp this summer.
The 23 year old wannabe was lucky enough to win herself a place in the star’s final six for judges houses, after she wowed the panel with her powerhouse vocals and playful personality at the last audition stage.
However not all of her pals shared her luck and poor Lydia Lucy faced devastating disappointment when, she first of all won a seat and thought she was home free, but later lost her spot to Abi Alton, after the latter impressed Nicole with her emotional performance and piano playing.
The Pussycat Doll was enthralled by Alton’s version of the Whitney Houston classic ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’ and dropped Lydia so she could take the 19 year old to Antigua to sing for Mary J Blige.
Relley told BANG Showbiz:
”The one shock for me was Lydia. I love Abi to bits, I think she deserved to get a seat but I don’t think they should’ve swapped Lydia with Abi. I don’t think that should’ve happened.
”I think Lydia and Abi should both have been in those seats.”
Clarke may have been on of the lucky ones but she hated bootcamp and admitted that she never wants to go through the experience again.
If she doesn’t make the live shows, Relley will think twice before auditioning for the ITV show again and she admitted that the drama perturbed and terrified her when the pressure hit in Wembley Arena.
She added: ”I would not wish that experience on my worst enemy. It was awful. I never want to sit on a seat again!
”It’s a very dramatic experience, it’s something none of us are going to forget.
”As a contestant you just don’t know what to expect. We only got told about the whole seat situation the day before. But at the moment I’m enjoying my experience on the show.”
Nicole read the riot act to her hopefuls backstage after a few mediocre performances from girls who she thought weren’t fighting enough for their place.
She told the remaining hopefuls to ‘grow some balls’ and show some passion on stage if they hoped to win a place with her going forward.
Relley was terrified by the outburst and revealed that Scherzinger’s rant was the ‘scariest moment’ of her life to date.
She explained: ”That was the scariest moment of my life. I was looking at Nicole and I was thinking, ‘She does not look happy.’
”That talk that Nicole gave us made me want to fight even more for my place. I went out there and I did the best that I could.”
