Robin Thicke made his big X Factor debut this evening as he performed on the latest results show of the ITV series.
The last time we saw the singer perform live, it was at the MTV VMAs with Miley Cyrus, so we were hoping for another headline grabber tonight when showed up on the British television series.
The singer was there tonight to perform Blurred Lines, the lead single from his 2013 album of the same name.
The performance was a little less raunchy than the VMAs and while Rob was surrounded by a whole bevvy of beautiful ladies, they were fully covered in their black leotards. We imagine that there will be some OFCOM complaints, naturally, but in our opinion, no one came close to Miley tonight!
All ITV got was some scantily clad ladies, with some slogans written on their bottoms and a tiny bit of thrusting. They should count themselves lucky!
Thicke is returning to the UK for a series of live performances, just weeks after his single ‘Blurred Lines’ was named Britain’s best selling single of 2013 so far.
However the song hasn’t been without it’s fair share of controversy and it has already been banned by a number of student unions and been criticised in the media for being apparently offensive and derogatory towards women, also for it’s controversial lyrics such as ‘I know you want it’ and ‘let me liberate ya’.
In recent weeks Robin has claimed that the song is actually about his actress wife Paula Patton and the controversy certainly hasn’t affected Blurred Lines’ popularity as just this week Thicke recorded a Japanese version of the track.
