Sharon Osbourne made her triumphant return to The X Factor this month, after leaving the show in 2007.
The reality TV matriarch was one of the first ever panellists on the ITV show, but quit her seat on the panel after feuding publicly with then judge Dannii Minogue six years ago.
However, in a bid to boost falling ratings and viewership figures, Simon Cowell persuaded her to return for the 2013 run….however it’s looking like it will be her last.
Insiders say that as elated as Sharon is to join Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow and Nicole Scherzinger for the latest series of the singing competition, she sees it as a short term job and does not plan to return for 2014.
A friend told The Daily Mail:
‘Sharon’s life is in Los Angeles and she hasn’t been prepared to give up her full-time job as a panellist on chat show The Talk for The X Factor. Her American network CBS agreed to let her balance both for the next few months, but there’s an understanding it will only be for this year.’
Sharon has already been jetting back and forward across the Atlantic at least twice a week while she balances her US chat show with auditions for the UK series and insiders say she can’t continue that hectic schedule forever.
‘She felt it was appropriate for her to return for the tenth anniversary and she needed the money, but long-term The X Factor isn’t part of her plans. She wants to go in this year, stir things up, cause a lot of trouble and swan off in a blaze of glory.’
Sharon joins Gary, Louis and Nicole in London today for their next round of auditions in the nation’s capital and just minutes ago Barlow tweeted his fans saying:
“Last day of London auditions ! Bring it on #XFactor”
“Day two in #London bring on the talent xo ”
The official Twitter account posted:
“Good morning London! Show us what you’ve got! How vital is good song choice for that all-important first audition? #XFactor”
