X Factor 2013: Silver Rock’s Jerrie Bafundila bombs at the arena! (VIDEO)
Jerrie Bafundila returned to the X Factor tonight for her second audition of the series.
The 22 year old singer originally performed for the judges with Tamera Foster as part of girl group Silver Rock but they were split into solo acts at that first tryout and tonight, she was seen singing again in London’s Wembley Arena.
Jerrie told Dermot O’Leary:
I didn’t apply by myself originally, I came as part of Silver Rock with Tamera and now we’re auditioning against each other. This is the first time I have performed by myself. I work as a beauty consultant but I’d rather be singing and making a living out of it for the rest of my life, so that’s why I’m here.
I am excited, but nervous. They did put me through as a solo artist so I definitely have to show them that they made the right choice.
The hopeful singer performed ‘We Found Love’ by Rihanna but nerves got the better of Jerrie on the day and her voice was audibly shaking throughout her performance. She tried to put a different spin on the well known dance track and stripped it back fully however by the end, even she knew she hadn’t given it her best shot and apologised to the panel.
The judges said:
Nicole Scherzinger: When I saw you last it was stronger and it was better, this wasn’t your best audition.
Louis Walsh: I was expecting ore if I’m really honest.
Sharon Osbourne: It was in the wrong key and it’s just not a good day for you.
Gary Barlow: There is a real difference between singing and shouting and I felt as if you were shouting through most of that song.
When the time came to vote Gary said no, Nicole and Louis voted yes, leaving Sharon as the decider. She said:
“Seriously Jerrie I just can’t put you through on that audition.”
As the unsuccessful singer left the stage, Scherzinger lamented:
“I feel so bad. I hope it wasn’t a mistake to split them up.”
