It would seem that X Factor mogul Simon Cowell has finalised his meetings with his PR people and lawyers over reports in the media that he’s the father of Lauren Silverman’s unborn baby as he has, at last, commented on the debacle in public.
While speaking to the press at the premiere screening of One Direction’s box office smash This Is us – the band became Simon’s golden-goose protégés after he formed the group on The X Factor – in London’s Leicester Square last night, Simon said, “Things are changing in my life right now, for the better…
“I’m proud to be a dad.”
To The Sun, he added, “It’s something I hadn’t thought before, but now I feel good about it. She [Lauren] is a very special girl.”
And while speaking to the Daily Mirror about becoming a father, he said, “I’m ready for that role, I’m very happy and very excited.”
However, Lauren – who recently finalised her divorce from Andrew Silverman, a former friend of Simon’s – wasn’t with Cowell at last night’s movie premiere, but his former lovers Mezghan Hussainy and the ubiquitous Sinitta were.
But back to the red carpet interviews, and Simon then said of his role as the co-producer of This Is Us, “I always dreamed as a kid if I could produce a movie — it’s fantastic.
“This is the first but hopefully won’t be the last.”
Meanwhile, it’s been reported today that former X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos has denied allegations that she hit a blogger during last weekend’s V Festival.
The Sun reports, “Tulisa has been reported to cops by an online blogger following an alleged incident at a music festival.
“It is alleged that the N-Dubz star, 25, attacked Vas Morgan backstage at V Festival this weekend — denied by Tulisa.”
Apparently, Vas posted an online blog yesterday in which he made allegations that he was punched on Saturday night.
An Essex Police spokesman said, “The force is making further enquiries.”
There have been no arrests or charges arising from the allegation, and last night, Tulisa’s spokesman said, “Tulisa strongly denies assaulting Mr Morgan — she specifically denies punching Mr Morgan.”
We will of course keep you posted on how that turns out, but for now, here’s a news report about the now confirmed baby daddy Simon…
