Well, it’s not as though we weren’t expecting this news, but today, it’s been reported that X Factor judge Tulisa has been given the boot from the show, but she apparently hasn’t been told yet!

However, while it seems X Factor boss Simon Cowell was happy enough to let Tulisa go, he’s reported “fighting tooth and nail” to keep his old mucker Louis Walsh on the judges’ bench, despite resistance from ITV.

Of Tulisa being ditched, a show insider told The Sun, “Tulisa has been on the panel for two years.

“She had a good run, but all good things come to an end.”

And of why Tulisa’s been axed, the insider remarked, “Quite apart from her performance on last year’s show, you can’t have a singer whose album only reached No35 in the charts sitting in judgment on other singers.”

But of ITV wanting to shelve long-term judge Louis Walsh – and Simon’s bid to save him – the insider said, “[Simon] will fight tooth and nail to keep him on the show.

“It hasn’t reached the shouting stage yet — but if it does, Simon is prepared for the fight.”

However, a spokesman for the show said, “No formal decisions have been made on the panel for 2013’s X Factor as yet.”

A spokesman for Tulisa refused to comment.

There have of course been several reports of late indicating that Sharon Osbourne is headed back to X Factor UK this year, and it’s thought that ITV are keen to retain Gary Barlow, even though he and Simon don’t get on.

The much publicized “revamp” of the show this year – in the wake of falling viewer ratings last year – include axing arena auditions and airing the live shows on a Saturday earlier in the evening.

But of Tulisa being axed, are you glad or sad? For now, here’s a look back at her time on the show…
