X Factor 2013: Simon Cowell hints he’ll appear frequently on this year’s show, saying “We’re giving viewers what they want”
When it was reported in the media that this year’s X Factor was undergoing a radical revamp and overhaul in a bid to claw back viewers, many fans suggested that having Simon Cowell return to the judging panel would ensure they tuned in…
However, he is of course a judge on X Factor USA, and though it was at one time mooted that he could fly back and forth between the UK and America to feature on both shows every week, he quickly ruled that out as an “exhausting” option.
But this weekend, he has hinted that he will be taking part in the UK show – as had been previously reported, but it was suggested his role would be minimal – and will appear more frequently than was first thought.
Speaking to the Daily Star, he said, “There are going to be some changes that will give the viewers what they want.
“I will be there a little bit – probably by satellite. I think during the middle stages.”
The paper adds, “Cowell is planning to appear during the show’s boot camp and judges’ houses episodes.
“He will give tips to the wannabes and steer the judging panel towards the acts he thinks deserve to make the live finals.”
It has of course also been rumoured that Sharon Osbourne will be replacing Tulisa this year, however, the fate of Nicole Scherzinger has apparently yet to be decided as she’s allegedly demanded her fee for taking part in the series be doubled from what she was paid last year.
However, it’s understood that Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh will return.
