X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent mogul Simon Cowell is of course set to become a father, and according to recent reports, he and lover Lauren Silverman are expecting a boy who’ll be born in February next year…
However, it seems Simon’s son won’t be inheriting his dad’s vast wealth as workaholic Simon reckons everyone should work for their cash, and not inherit it.
And according to the Daily Mirror today, Simon has revealed that he intends to leave his money to, quite liderally, charidy. And it seems he intends to significantly boost the coffers of charities that support children and dogs.
Of his estimated £225million bank balance, Simon told the paper, “I’m going to leave my money to somebody…
“A charity, probably — kids and dogs.
“I don’t believe in passing on from one generation to another.
“Your legacy has to be that hopefully you gave enough people an opportunity, so that they could do well…
“And you gave them your time, taught them what you know.”
He also revealed that he has no intention of ever retiring, remarking, “A lot of people who retire, they hate their job so much, they just love the idea of not working anymore.
“That horrifies me.
“I’m going to be still working in my 80s or 90s.”
And apropos of age, Simon’s been telling Esquire magazine that he’ll be a cool dad, despite his advancing years.
He says, “You can be cool as you get older if you’re (a) successful and (b) you can relate to younger people without acting like an idiot.
“But don’t dye your hair.”
Bookmaker Ladbrokes is currently offering odds of 4-1 that Simon will name his baby Simon Junior, however, as we reported recently, it’s been rumoured that the music mogul will call the baby Eric in honour of his late father.
Will you have a flutter on the baby’s name? If so, Ladbrokes are offering 33-1 on Louis and Gary!
