X Factor 2013: Take That’s Gary Barlow goes to visit cancer sufferer Steph Knight
Gary Barlow wore his heart on his sleeve this week, when he made a terminally ill girl’s wishes come true, by giving her a private concert at her home.
Steph Knight has only months to live and was desperate to meet the Take That star, who she admits she loved watching on The X Factor for the past two years.
Steph, 21, has incurable bone cancer, and told The Mirror that meeting the dad of three was the experience of a lifetime, though she confessed that it was also a little ‘surreal.’
She said:
“Gary was really lovely. I’m very grateful.
“It was all a bit surreal to see him in the living room. He sang Back for Good.”
Knight was informed in January that her illness was terminal and incurable and as a result drew up a bucket list of things she wants to do before she passes away. Her fifty goals included meeting Gary and in the last month she has also flown an airplane, met Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden and magician Dynamo, tried on wedding dresses, swam with dolphins, met the stars of Spurs football team and had a drunken night out with her friends.
Left on her list is a meeting with Royal couple Prince William and Kate Middleton, driving her car for the last time and having the free reign of an empty shopping centre with her family.
Other ambitions include ‘being told I’m the coolest auntie ever’ and ‘to make someone’s cancer experience slightly happier to get through’.

So, so lovely. I absolutely love this man! He really cares, and Stephanie sounds like a very, very brave girl who’s determined to live her life to the fullest. I hope she completes her list and more.
