The judges have been travelling around the UK for the last month, holding preliminary auditions for the X Factor and this week dates have been confirmed for the next round of tryouts.
Sharon Osbourne, Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger have been listening to hopefuls sing in small hotel rooms in England, Scotland and Wales and the best of the bunch have been invited back to perform again, this time in front of a much bigger audience.
In contrast to the small and intimate auditions they experienced the first time round, when they sang acapella in a small room for just the judges and a few members of crew, this time the hopefuls will be performing with a backing track to between 6,000 – 8,000 people and the pressure will be on.
The next round of tryouts will be held in the massive Wembley Arena and will be staged between Monday 15th of June and Thursday 18th of June, with two sessions taking place each day.
Gary Barlow is already on his way home to the UK to prepare for his X Factor return and after a fun filled few days in new York this week he tweeted:
“Heading home after 3 wonderful days in NYC ! Saw an amazing musical called Pippin ! The show was superb and the cast were out of this world”
“Come on BA get me home ! I’m told flying home early doors from NY means you don’t get jet lag ! I will update u all on this anomaly”
The team are all heading to Cardiff this week for the last round of preliminary performances and it sounds like Xtra Factor hosts Caroline Flack and Matt Richardson are enjoying the journey to Wales this morning. She tweeted yesterday saying:
“I’m on the train to Cardiff with @mattrichardson3. He’s totally flirting with @grimmers on what’s app…”
“Excited to get back to work tomorrow… Final X Factor tour stop… Cardiff… Hi Cardiff!!! 🙋🙅”
