X Factor 2014: Nicole Scherzinger replaced by Rita Ora & Cheryl Cole? You’re not happy!

Nicole Scherzinger could find herself out in the cold when the X Factor returns later this year it has been reported this evening.

The Pussycat Doll has served two series’ on the ITV show and proved popular with viewers and contestants alike, with her quick humour, her stunning sense of style and her dedication to the singers who joined her team, however despite all that it seems that Simon Cowell could be edging her out.

Simon Cowell confirmed earlier today that he will be making big comeback for the 2014 series, after leaving in 2011 to work on his US version, which ultimately bombed.

Now the star wants to head home but he’s apparently planning another massive shakeup of the format and one that doesn’t involve Nicole.

Insiders say Cowell would most like to have Cheryl Cole back on his right hand side when the 11th series of X Factor kicks off this autumn and he’s doing all he can to win her over and persuade to to return.

The dad to be is also said to be fighting for Louis Walsh, who previously insisted he was leaving the panel and the fourth seat will be taken by Rita Ora if Cowell gets his way.

A source told The Sun that Cowell is keen for Louis to remain on as his ‘eyes and ears’ and doesn’t feel his trusted pal can be replaced.

While he’s desperate to have Rita and Cheryl as the eye candy of the judges’ table, insiders also claimed that the star has a backup plan – of course he does – and has both Nicole Scherzinger and Dannii Minogue on his maybe list.

The ladies will be offered the chance to return if the first choice singers opt out.

How flattering!

Not all of you X Factor fans are keen on the idea of a Cheryl comeback though and we’ve been inundated with comments over the past month from viewers who aren’t sure a return would be the right choice.

One posted on UnrealityTV saying:

“I like Cheryl when she was on X Factor. But right now, Nicole is great & it’s hard to tell can the former judge replace current one. Unless they’re both willing to work together it will be fine.”

Another detractor commented:

“lets hope nicole will be back for 2014. I don´t like, if cheryl get the job.
Cheryl is like a shab* and Nicole always Shamazing. do u know what i mean?”

A third insisted:

“I’m #teamnicole! Nicole scherzinger deeply cares about her acts. I’ve been supporting her since 2012. Just take a look at Rylan, Jahmene, the winner James, Abi, Hannah and Tamera. All of them have grown so much because of Nicole! Well for Cheryl, my impression of her is not as great cos’ she quarreled with Nicole Scherzinger before and you can check that up online.”

Lisa McGarry

Lisa has been watching reality TV for too long now. She won't do any housework unless 'Big Brother' announces it over the tannoy and everything she does has to be put to a public vote!

Can we have a two sided article instead of a one sided article?

I prefer Nicole. Cheryl is not that nice when she has said she won’t do X Factor if Nicole is there and Simon is not very loyal to his workers obviously. Nicole can at least sing and is much more bubbly. Already the hype about Cheryl not being sure about returning because of her bad luck with divorce, malaria and Ashley, etc, etc, such a bore. If Cheryl is back I will not be watching X Factor. Cheryl is the reason I switched off until she left. Last season’s panel was the best for me for years.

Why do the press adore Nicole so much? Truth of the matter is, your average Joe Bloggs sat at home on a Saturday night isn’t bothered by her. The cast of Channel 4’s Gogglebox proved that during one episode. Cheryl on the other hand always seemed a lot more down to earth, which is what people loved about her. I personally don’t want to see an over the top American screaming the odds every weekend. When Cheryl was on the show, she was the perfect addition. The panel that she was part of catered for everyone, and the chemistry was just fantastic. The ratings spoke for themselves at the end of the day.
