Despite having been rejected from X Factor once before, Emma Chawner has returned to audition for the show this year.
Emma first appeared on the show back in 2007, when she crooned in a baby like voice wearing a ridiculous dress, designed by her father.
Tomorrow night we will see her singing with her sister Samantha and the pair perform Atomic Kitten’s ‘Whole Again’.
“My names Emma and my names Samantha and together we’re ‘Sister Act’” say the sisters. “Since I auditioned on The X Factor it’s been bad and good really, we got evicted from home because our neighbour made up that I sing on the streets at 3am, we had to live in the car for 7 weeks with the cat, the dog and a bird,” says Emma.
“We did used to sing a lot in the car though, I think we’ve got what it takes to win The X Factor, especially with my sister with me,” says Emma.
Simon recognises Emma when she walks on stage and she tells Simon her eviction story. “Are you saying you were evicted because of your singing?” asks Simon. “Yes,” answers Emma.
“I’ve learnt I can sing better with my sister than on my own,” says Emma – they both begin to sing ‘Whole Again’ by Atomic Kitten
“It was arguably twice as bad as before” says Simon
“You’re not gonna stop me!” says Emma
“But Emma you can’t sing” says Simon
“I just think you should give us a chance” says Emma
“But a chance to do what?” says Simon
“We have weeks not decades” says Simon
Cheryl – “you’re definitely more confident with your sister but nothing else has improved much
