Boyband 4th Base, who made it to the boot camp stage in series one and judges’ houses stage in series two, returned once again this week to audition for the X Factor.

“You’ve definitely improved,” Sharon comments. “Your harmonies are a lot better.”

Simon, who picked 4tune in favour of the boys last year, is less impressed: “I have no idea of who you are. The danger is that you are doing what American vocal harmony groups do best. And you’re second best.”

Although Simon decides to turn the group away, they are rescued by Louis and Sharon who put them through to boot camp, I can’t see them getting any further this year, but then I am not a teenage, cd buying, girl!
