The mother of X factor finalist, Alexandra Burke, has revealed how she would not be alive today had it not been for her daughters quick thinking a few years ago.

Alex’s mum, Melissa, revealed how she fell seriously ill and almost lapsed into a diabetic coma when her daughter knew something was wrong and called an ambulance.

Melissa told The Sun: “I was in and out of a coma and the doctors resuscitated me.

“They thought they were going to lose me, my kidneys were at three per cent use only.

“It was lucky my kidneys went into full shutdown in hospital — the doctors said that if I had been at home I would have died.”
