X Factor and Simon Cowell to pay tribute to Whitney Houston
Simon Cowell has revealed that he will pay tribute to the late Whitney Houston, on this year’s X Factor series.
The TV boss recently admitted that he and Fox bosses had been considering the legendary singer for a judging role on the American version of the hit singing show and back in 2009, she had previously appeared on the UK series as a guest mentor along with her own mentor Clive Davis.
Cowell wants to mark the impact that Whitney has had on TV talent show contestants over the years and told The Sun:
“It’s going to be a different feeling when contestants come out and sing her songs. It’s sad.
“I’ve got a feeling we’re going to see a Whitney tribute on The Voice before us.
“We’re going to continue to pay tribute to Whitney. Her songs literally are timeless. Whether we find anyone as good as her, that’s a whole different ball game.”
Simon is currently on the hunt for judges for both his UK and American shows after sacking Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger on the US version and reportedly Kelly Rowland from the British panel.
Singers such as Estelle, Toni Braxton and LeeAnn Rimes have been linked to the roles for this year and the music mogul confirmed that they have a whole host of stars desperate to take part.
However, as usual Cowell is sure that no one can do it better than him and is trying to work out a way where he can sit on both judging panels.
