ITV and BBC are said to be desperately trying to secure an appearance from the Spice Girls on their respective Saturday night entertainment shows.

The BBC are hoping that because Emma Bunton has previously appeared on the show, she may be able to convince the girls to either perform on, or just attend one of the live shows.

“The girls could perform a song or simply come down for the evening and give a few comments on the performances of the celebrity dancers.

“We would love them to make an appearance in some capacity,” a BBC insider tells the Mirror.

But ITV are hoping that the girls will agree to a live feed from one of their reunion concerts being shown during the X Factor 2007 live final.
