X Factor: Ariel - The Angriest Woman in UK?

Angry Ariel from West Yorkshire pops up on tomorrow night’s X Factor show.

“I’m Ariel, 26 years old and a Holistic coach, I’ve warmed up my body, done lots of meditation, I can pull off a lot of styles, I will owne the space when I enter the audition room” she tells Dermot

Ariel enters the audition room, she storms over and rips up her number and throws it at Cheryl

“First up lets sort this out, I’m not a number, I’m a human being” says Ariel

She walks back to the stage, “My names Ariel, I’m a holistic vocal coach, I’m a generalist, not a specialist, my voice does lots of things, I was confused what to sing you today, so I thought lets do a little something – that o.k?”

The Judges are gobsmacked

Simon takes charge, “OK, you’re not a number, you’re a person, a holistic vocal coach – what does that mean?”

“I’m a vocal coach, I work holistically” says Ariel

Simon says, “Example please?”

“I take into account, people’s body, emotions, thoughts, energy” says Ariel

Simon looks at her and says, “You obviously think you can win”

“Of course” is Ariel’s reply

Cheryl asks Ariel to stand on the X, Ariel stamps on the X in a huff

“Is their a problem with that?” questions Cheryl

“No” says Ariel sarcastically “but can I get on and sing for you”

Ariel sings

“That was a complete and utter nightmare” says Simon

“The idea behind it was that you understand every line has a different style -o.k?” says Ariel

“I don’t care” says Simon

“If I came to you for training – you’re scary – by the way you walked over to me I thought we were gonna have a scrap” says Cheryl

With Tony (Simon’s minder) on hand will they have a scarp now?

What the hec was that chick Ariel on about, guys honestly, i think she was on drugs, all of them class A’s lol

  2. lou says:

You missed the part where she shut Simon up. “Have you coached anyone successful” - “Matt Tuck from Bullet for My Valentine”. Now i dont even like that band but i know there EXTREMELY succesful. And when Cheryl asked her to stand on the X she was obviously seeing if she could annoy the woman, how pathetic!
Her act wasn’t good i will agree, but her idea was good.

  3. Steve says:

This women was clearly off her head! She was just rude and stupid and wasted her time auditionining. Her attitude was terrible and she’s just up her own a** to be frank. NUTTER!

  4. tommy says:

    I thought Ariel was hot!

  5. Shani says:

if i had any affiliation with bullet for my valentine and had the talent to say that i had actually coached MATT TUCK i would be goddamn pissed off that i was being wound up and not taken seriously by x factor judges too.

  6. xeno says:

Leave ariel alone please. out of all the auditions i have seen on x factor that was by far the best. she didn’t stick to one style she showcased her capabilities by using multiple styles. as for the bullet formy valentine thing they are hugely successful and to have any affiliation with them is a testament unto itself. i think simon cowell was his typical arrogant self as always in his comments and the blank looks on the judges faces when she mentioned bullet for my valentine just goes to show they don’t appreciate music

  7. Gazz says:

Seriously what was she thinking? Regardless of how good or bad her voice was (and it wasn’t great despite what some bulls&%t degree says) you don’t go to an audition and insult the people auditioning you, and act like a psycho.

She’s got a chip on her shoulder about something and she’s taken waaaaaay too many drugs. But god could come down from heaven and tell her she sang badly and she still wouldn’t believe him

  8. Jazz says:

Does anyone have proof that she coahced him, its just the way she said it seemed a bit false…but then i have no idea so hey.

Her idea was great but after seeing my sister grow as a singer, and watch her coaching over years (plus solos and auditions) i would have to say her attitude was terrible. No matter how you feel about these people they are the one who decide, they make the rules and you have to show some respect…also you have to realise how many applicant there are and how a number systems always works the best.

  9. Maureen says:

This institutional escapee was scary. More scary and crazy than holistic with karma.

Music Degree sale must have taken place on ebay. Free.

Okay, let’s sort this out shall we? I’m a musician and I know a thing or two about music, so just to set the record straight - Ariel CAN sing. Not brilliantly, but she can sing. Averagely. Unfortunately she’s also an insufferable egomaniac with clear abandonment issues. Good riddance, you mentalist.

  11. mattress says:

I was disgusted in her vile and arrogant exhibition. How can she sit and watch that?

  12. xeno says:

That wasn’t arrogance it was trying to be confident. she was treating them how other people treat her. she is not a mentalist or an asylum escapee. stop being so negative it’s because of people treating her like sh*t on a regular basis because shes different she has to try and be confident. I know cos i go through the same thing as do many other people from the mosher and gothic communities.

  13. Sam says:

Xeno i completely agree and i’m in the same boat. i feel sorry for her but also glad she didn’t get put threw. do we want the lovely Ariel to turn out like all the like the wannabes on X factor? same difference *shudders*, Leon, steve?

  14. Sam says:

sorry about the grammer guys LOL

  15. Shani says:

no i think she should have been put through, i mean it would show the people who are dissing her that her talents can be worked on and theyre not limited like the majority of the auditioners. if she had been a little bit more polite and saved her angst for later on in the show i think she could have had a really good chance. im still in awe that she coached matt tuck. and in disbelief that the judges seemed unimpressed by bullet for my valentine. the world needs to open their eyes to talent and stop stereotyping.

  16. SteelMaiden says:

So yeah, that Ariel chick, I see what she was trying to do and all that, but it kind of blew up in her face.

And yeah, fair play to the girl if she -did- coach Matt Tuck (personally I reckon maybe they went to college together, and they were probably bored one lunch hour or something, but whatever…) but I mean, why would that matter to Simon and co.? BFMV ain’t really my thing, but they are a pretty big metal band, even so, the only judge that would even have ANY relevance to would have been Sharon. The rest have forged their careers in the popworld, ergo, they only really know about music and artists that appeal to the masses, and that’s all they’re looking for for the competition.

It’s a shame really, because I think she had a pretty cool and varied voice which she could have showcased further along if she had just chosen a couple of vocal styles and held her tongue until she had gotten herself a little more well known. It would have meant she had a bigger platform from which to make whatever point it is she was trying to make too.

  17. SteelMaiden says:

    @Xeno…

I’m from the, ‘mosher and gothic communities’, as you would call it, and I don’t think it’s anything to do with her trying to be confident due to being treated like s**t. She went on a pop orientated programme, fully aware of that fact, trying to put forward an attitude, that quite frankly, isn’t going to appeal to the type of people who generally like that sort of music.

She was trying to be all rebellious and controversial, and yeah, she got her 5 minutes of air time, but as I said above, if she’d been a bit smarter and waited it out, she could have got her message across, and probably in a more influential way too, if she’d just been a teeny bit more grown up about the whole thing.

And for the record, you say many others like you and I get treated like s**t on a regular basis? Personally, I find, yeah, you get judged sometimes, but on the whole, if your attitude is decent to people, they give you the same respect and see beyond hair dye/ piercings/ the clothes.

  18. Xeno says:

Should have home through .It may be pop oriented but in the end it is actually a talent contest So she appeared on a talent program. What the judges and the masses need to do is open their eyes and stop stereotyping. Cos We will not go away overnight

  19. Xeno says:

I meant should have gone through. I’m using my phone with predictive text. Steelmaiden i do agree with you on all but the respect thing. doesn’t matter what you do the stereotype kicks in As the masses are mostly Chav so you can’t really win.

  20. SteelMaiden says:

Yeah but everyone knows, no matter how much it’s labelled as a talent contest, no matter how much talent you have, they still like you to fit a certain criteria regarding looks/ attitude/ persona. And the scarce few that don’t fit that mould, but make it through the first stages, rarely get to the latter stages.

With regards to chavs, I give as good as I get. if they’re rude to me, I’m rude back. If they let me be, I give them the same courtesy.

Anyhow, I don’t deny Ariel has talent, but if she’s as individual as she likes to make out, she wont have wanted to be moulded and controlled as they would have done with her on the X Factor, getting through would have gone against everything she claims to stand for. If she’s as good as I, and others suspect, surely she’ll shine through and make it with a musical career if that’s what she wants. :)

  21. SteelMaiden says:

P.S.) I know, with chavs, or any group of people trying to be intimidating someone, it isn’t always as cut and dry as, ‘Ignore them/ Do unto others… etc etc.’ but the same as they tend to judge us more than other ‘group’ of people, we also judge them, assuming every single person in a trackie is a complete turd, which, as I’ve gotten a little older, I realise is a bit silly and rather hypocritical. Therefore, I try -emphasis on try here…- to appreciate, you’ve still got your nice folk, ad your arseholes, as you pretty much do with every social group anyway. :)

  22. xeno says:

SteelMaiden I totally agree with you at the end of the day people are people. Someone once told me it doesn,t matter what race, religion or skin colour you are because a prick is prick. After thinking about it Id ont think Ariel shouuld have gone through because she miraculously found a way to win (everyone knows the votes are rigged) then she wouldn’t last long anyway. Which brings me on to my next point. Why do they even do this show in first place because the winner gets One number 1 then they vanish. There is only a selct few like Shane Ward and Leona Lewis that have lasted and even Shane Ward seems to have vanished.

P.S i have seen a rock act succeed but i think it was on another countries version

  23. Mike says:

Its good to see that some of you are slightly getting the picture, but, for any of you that do know ariel, you’ll know that A, she is an amazing person B, yes she did coach matt tuck C, one of the best vocalist I’ve ever heard (including all the mass produced, heavily edited shit on the market these days) and D, one hell of a good teacher.

She went on there gave as good as she got and it was hilarious to see how uneducated and predudice people like Cheryl and Simon are!

P.S. even thought they edited most of the stuff out they still couldn’t make Cheryl sound remotely intellegant (which I find bloody awesome)
Oh ye and Simon has always admitted he doesnt listent o music anymore so he won’t be up on bands or names.

  24. oliver says:

ariel is a NUTTER SHE WAS A RUDE BASTRED AND STUPID I’M SCARED OF HER SHES A GOTH

  25. xeno says:

oliver why must you be so intolerant of her just cos she is a goth. It’s because of intolerance that a young goth by the name of sophie lancaster was killed. Ariel was an auditionee on a “talent” program. Can’t you just see her as a person and not the obvious.

  26. BLACKMETALROAR says:

Someone who thinks that they are better than everyone else just isn’t endearing. Maybe I should go on there and start shrieking a Burzum track to prove how crazy I am and call the panel failures for not knowing the words to ‘Dunkelheit’. Haha that showed you, you tossers!

People like her really dont help themselves, and certainly don’t contribute anything positive to the Sophie Lancaster debate either.

  27. BLACKMETALROAR says:

    And her dreads were fake.

  28. Fliss says:

Ofcourse her dreads were fake. Millions of websites sell fake dreads. I’ve got some fake ones because I don’t want my hair in dreads all the time.

If she’d have come in and sang a song instead of her academic construction and was actually nice to the judges then I reckon she could have gone through because she didn’t have a bad voice.

But she did let herself down badly.

  29. Nads says:

People who think they are persecuted because of the way they look have a serious problem with self-awareness - a lot of people choose to dress like that to accompany their general appalling attitude and it becomes part of a long succession of self-obsessive, egomaniacal acts. I couldn’t stand this woman, whatever happened to her in her past she is clearly intent on letting complete strangers pay for it, which only serves to show her small mind.

  30. 20dan says:

Ariel was scary all i can say is NO TALENT and if she got through to bootcamp i would die and xeno stop sticking up for ariel she was crap

  31. xeno says:

20dan She was only crap to you because she didn’t fit into the mainstream mould which record companies and reality television has brainwashed you into believing is the norm.

  32. JJ08 says:

Ariel is scary … is she a lesbian her dreads was so fake her attudie was awful she was very rude to cheryl and who ever liked her has to go to hell she had no talent what so ever

  33. mp291 says:

ariel is a silly pedantic bint. its one thing being individual, its another whining about being a number. im sorry, but is it really such a problem to be given a number probably for the sake of convenience and the logistics of dealing with thousands of applicants, no its not. so why must she make a problem and act like a stuck up knob. and xeno, you too have been brainwashed, however yours is that the whole world is out to get you when its rly not. if everyone woke up tomorrow and said they loved ariel’s audition you would moan that she had become mainstream, jump onto the next social outcast and point your elitist fingers at the rest of us listening to leona lewis, sipping starbucks and wearing cushy nike trainers, but you know what? its not so bad afterall…
