X Factor: Ashley McKenzie’s Mum Declares “My son is not cocky.”

Ashley McKenzie: X Factor ContestantThe mother of X Factor contestant Ashley McKenzie has this week leapt to his defence and insisted: “My son is not cocky.”

Maxine Gatt, 41, of Northcote Road, Croydon, has been hurt by criticism which has seen her boy labelled “arrogant”.

The 20-year-old reached the final eight of the ITV1 talent show on Saturday night, but has seen his chances of winning damaged by claims he is too cocky.

Maxine said: “He’s a genuinely nice guy who is representing Croydon. He is putting his heart into this.”

    In no way is ASHLEY arrogant and cocky, the sad thing is though he’s being VERY BADLY mentored by someone who is and that’s Simon Cowell. The other sad thing is ASHLEY due to the themed weeks is having his talent stifled, he’s out of tune and thats likely because he’s having to sing songs forced on him EVERY WEEK (not just sometimes) that he would never sing by choice in a million years.SIMON is wrecking the confidence and ability of the acts this year due to the themed weeks,I feel sad for ASHLEY as LEONA is all SIMON’S interested in,terrible mentor,I wish ASLEY luck for Saturday.
