X Factor Chart: 25th November 2006

On tonight’s X Factor show I believe that there were three clear winners.

Both Ben Mills and Leona Lewis performed brilliantly and I loved the contrast between their two songs.

The MacDonald Brothers started off on shaky ground with a rather boring performance of ‘When You Say Nothing At All’ but their second song was excellent. The boys attempt to sing ‘I’m Gonna Be (500Miles)’ should have been awful but it was actually rather fantastic. The looked confident for the first time and even won over Simon Cowell….maybe they can win! I certainly don’t think they will be leaving tonight.

Eton Road were disappointing tonight and I thought their song choices were poor. I liked their first song, the harmonies were strong and it was really fun, but their performance of ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight’ was a bit boring to be honest. These boys are quirky and individual, Louis should really put more effort into their song choices. i also didn’t think they were just as polished as some of the other acts.

Ray Quinn gave his best vocal performance of the series during his first son ‘The Way You Look Tonight’ and then ruined it by singing Jailhouse Rock. It was predictable and was the kind of thing that ray had done a million times before. i think Ray should stick to showcasin his vocal talent instaed of spinning around the stage.

So here we go, my official X FACTOR CHART! Follow the links on each name for more info on their individual performances and judges comments

Eton road was quite entertaining tonight, though I think sending them home was the right decision. I’ve never been a big fan anyway, but wish them good luck for the future.

If I’m really honest, Ben is starting to feel very boring to watch and to listen to, I could imagine myself buying one of his tracks, but IMO he is a bit too much like the singer Curtis Stigers, who could release only one fairly decent single, such as Curtis did with “You’re All That Maters To Me, I couldn’t imagine listening to a full album of Ben ;-)

Ray, surprised me tonight, I do like the guy anyway, but could imagine he has more of a career in the West End and in musicals.

Macdonald brothers were actually quite good tonight, especially with the second track, not really much else to say about them, they are nice guys with average voices, but IMO definitely not pop stars with the X-Factor (in my opinion.)

Leona … where do you start? For me it is like watching a real star being born in front of my eyes on this TV show, yes, I do truly believe she is that good.;-) The Whitney Houston track tonight proved that IMO. If I was in Simon’s shoes right now, I would be feeling quite happy…IMO she would be a success internationally (i.e easily crack America ;-)

    Take care,
    G.P

well, LEONA has won the show anyway by whatever means Simon has engineered it, so why bother with the remaining weeks, spare us all BARRY MANILOW and give her the mantle now,I have to say and YES I’m a big fan of ETON ROAD, I’d have kept them for 2 reasons, BEN treat YOUR SONG like a ROTTWEILER on a smaller dog and savaged the song, other than the fireworks and big backing he didnt have much learning to do for his 1st song either, ETON Road had a lot of words to learn, performed with no gimmicks or extras and sang, for those reasons I’d have sent BEN home, so normally would have SIMON but BEN has let the cat out the bag earlier in the week so SIMON had to placate. THE show is massively weakened now with ETON ROAD going and we’ll all be asleep next week on BARRY MANILOEW week, please, what a farce.ROD,Newcastle

@Rod Bell, whether or not you like it… let’s be realistic, Leona SHOULD win it anyway, because she is the most talented. Iv’e seen a few posts here by you rave on about Eton Road, but can you honestly say that they are on the same level as Leona or Ben ( heck, or even on Robert’s level?) IMO they appeal mostly to either very young girls or to the gay community ;-)
I think i also remember a similar post by you when Ash was kicked out.

Anthony is a camp as they come :) Not sure which category you fall in there :) , i take it you are a male and older than 13…not attacking anyone here, just being honest :)

    cheers,
    GP.

GP I ANSWERED YOU, although you are someone best avoided on ETON ROAD leave the x factor section. WE ALL HAVE OPINIONS i DONT AGREE WITH YOURS, YOU DONT AGREE WITH MINE, MAYBE NEITHER IS TOTALLY RIGHT OR TOTALLY WRONG, WE BOTH HAVE THE RIGHT TO EXPRESS WHAT WE PERSONALLY THINK OUR WAY. YOUR comments to me personally say far mor about you than they ever will about me.I’ve taken the time to acknowledge you twice in original form not print copy after copy on the various sections, then again you like copies of things it seems. I also want to add to what I said above it can be a good thing to savage a song if it needs it, I personally like BEN and have warmed more as weeks go on, I find I like his performances better when I listen to them a few times, I dont mean to criricise BEN when saying he sometimes goes like a rottweiler to a song, Rock artistes do that, its their mark, I just felt ETON ROAD had more to do and learn on this show and did it superbly, their ballad was done with tenderness and sensitivity,MacDonalds did great with 500 miles, RAY lost it with ‘Jailhouse Rock’ and my views on LEONA are well kown, great on the I will always love you song, other than that nothing to fire me up about, Really not bothered who wins, Simon is detrmined its LEONA and in all honesty I dont think Simon would have a clue how to manage the others, he’d destroy their talent, which is a saving grace for ETON ROAD now with Louis, who will nurture their talent and smug Simon will be ‘the’ loser on that one, thank goodness.ROD,Newcastle

Also people can dislike or like Eton Road, but absolutely ‘none’ of their performances on x factor could ever be justifiably judged as boring, as for Elton Johns,’Can you feel the love tonight’, for a group the lads performed it perfectly, with sensitivity and perfect vocals and harmony, the ending really beautiful, how it was written to be sung.Rod,Newcastle
