X Factor Chart – 27th October 2007

Another week, another Unreality TV X Factor chart. This is the part where we tell you who we thought gave the best, and worst performances of the evening. Feel free to disagree, argue and even throw things at us….we’d love to hear your thoughts on tonight’s show.

1) Rhydian Roberts: The man we love to hate. I wish Rhydian was awful, but he doesn’t even come close. Tonight he gave a powerful and commanding performance of his favourite song, Phantom Of The Opera. The judges gushed and rightly so. Rhydian has a great West End career in front of him.

2) Niki Evans: At first I thought it was a huge mistake for Niki Evans to perform My Heart Will Go On in front of Celine Dion tonight, but in her defence, she pulled it off. She doesn’t have quite the calibre of voice Celine does, but she is fabulous in her own way. I loved her performance tonight, she brought great emotion to it.

3) Futureproof: Tonight the Futureproof boys sang If You Don’t Know Me By Now. I don’t know if anyone agrees but I think these boys are so much better than their female counterparts. They gel well together, they look like they have been a band forever, they look like they have been on stage forever. I thought they did a great job and so did the judges.

4) Same Difference: What a cheesefest! The brother and sister that are Same Difference tonight sang Breaking Free from High School musical, and the only one who wasnt impressed was Louis Walsh. I like these two, they sang really well. But I am going to have nightmares tonight about Sarah’s psycho eyes following me around the room.

5) Beverley Trotman: Beverley took on Whitney Houston’s I Have Nothing tonight, and unlike last weeks performance, Beverely managed to bring something of herself to the song. She didn’t sound like a Whitney wannabe, she gave it her very own attitude and tonight we saw a bit of what she might be if she is allowed to stay for a few more weeks. Mr Cowell himself thought she was “amazing”.

6) Leon Jackson: Tonight Leon gave an emotional performance of the song ‘Home’. Louis and Simon weren’t impressed but I would have to agree with Sharon who said that Leon’s vulnerability was appealing. I thought he sang well and its nice to see someone who’s not pompous and cocky.

7) Hope: The judges loved Hope’s performance of Lady Marmalade, but I wasn’t so enthused. I thought that the girls sounded ok, but I wasn’t very impressed with the lead singer. I thought it was all more about the writhing and the costumes, but the voices didn’t live up to the promise.

8: Daniel DeBourg: Poor Daniel! Does Louis Walsh want rid of him? Tonight, in one of the worst song choices ever, Louis made Daniel sing Build Me Up Buttercup. Daniel sang well, he danced well, but the song was just too uncool. The judges weren’t at all convinced and Simon gave the best X Factor advice ever….”Fire Louis!” Maybe he should take his own advice.

9) Andy Williams: Andy tried to turn it around tonight by singing a more up tempo song, and Dannii chose a Bee Gee’s classic, Stayin Alive. He sounded nice, but there was no pizazz! It was flat and boring and I think he could do much much better.

10) Alisha Bennett: To be fair to Alisha, she wasn’t the worst out of Sharon’s category tonight. She sang Say A Little Prayer and I missed the first part of the song as I was mesmerized by the ridiculous pink bow on her head. A real case of shoot the stylist! There’s not much else to say about Alisha’s performance tonight….mostly because I have already forgotten it.

11) Emily Nakanda: Emily’s sang I’m Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman, and while it may have told her story it did not suit her voice. She was flat and pitchy and I felt so sorry for her. She is so young and I would love this to be a fantastic and confidence building experience for her, but I am very afraid that we are never going to get to see her whole potential.

    Absolutely correct!
Rhydian blew me away. I absolutely adore this guy!
Too bad I live in Switzerland and cannot vote for him, but I really hope he wins!
Niki has got a great voice too, but to be honest, they’re supposedly looking for the X-factor…and only Rhydian has that!!! (instead of some sob story, which annoy the h*ll out of me)
    Go Rhydian!!!!
