X Factor: Cher Lloyd ‘I don’t think haters understand what they’re doing to me’
Cher Lloyd has spoken out against the tabloid papers and online haters saying that they need to give her a bit of a break.
The 18 year old singer has been on the edge ever since she entered The X Factor last year, sparking controversy wherever she goes. But although she appears tough and able to handle herself, in an interview with radio station BRMB, Lloyd confessed that the hate and abuse is starting to really affect her.
She told DJ James Merritt:
This is what upsets me a lot and makes me think I don’t even want to do this anymore. I was delusional, because as a little girl I thought that I would become a pop star and everyone would love me and I’d have the best life ever. I’m not saying that I don’t have the best life ever but it’s been so tough. I think people should try to give me a break because I don’t think they understand what they’re doing to me.
Cher went on to explain about the regular abuse she gets on mirco blogging site Twitter, saying that many of her attackers on there are old men who should know better. She added:
There are old men out there that are writing on my Twitter, saying abusive things. They’ve probably got daughters and how would they feel if their daughter was in my position. They wouldn’t like an old man talking to her like that would they.
Makes you feel kind of sorry for her eh?
Cher’s debut single Swagger Jagger was released yesterday. Her first album will follow this October.
