X Factor: Cher Lloyd lands first UK number one with Swagger Jagger!

She did it! Tonight Cher Lloyd silenced the critics (for a few minutes anyway) as she topped the UK single charts with her debut single Swagger Jagger.

The X Factor star looked set to triumph at the start of the week, after she shifted 30,000 copies of the attitude packed song in it’s first two days of sale.

However, over the last few days, interest had waned somewhat and sales started to slow and as Cher slipped down the iTunes chart, to be replaced by JLS and One Direction, it looked like she may be pipped to the post at the last minute.

However it was revealed on Radio 1 this evening that Lloyd’s dreams had come true and she was this week’s number on artist.

On hearing the news, the 18 year old singer exclaimed:

“Having a No. 1 was the best thing I could have asked for!”

She previously revealed that if she managed to secure the number one spot, she would celebrate with a Chinese and a glass of bubbly in her mum and dada’s council home.

Cher knocked fellow X Factor stars JLS into second spot, with their track ‘She Makes Me Wanna,’ which last week became their fifth number one single.

Check out tonight’s full top ten list below.

Kinda glad. I don’t like her, but being bashed over and over isn’t great at her age. At least she has something to pride herself with.
