X Factor auditionee, Danny Evans has spoken out about claims that he only made it through to the boot camp stage of the show because of his ‘story’.

During his audition, Danny moved judge Cheryl Cole to tears as he told the panel about his wife who had died and cited her as his reason for entering the show.

But now Danny is asking people to judge him, not on his past, but on his singing capabilities.

He told The Daily Star: “I want the X Factor to be about me and my singing. I don’t want to be seen as the sob story guy.”

“Things could certainly be better. But they could also be a whole lot worse.”
