X Factor’s Danyl Johnson has admitted to his local newspaper getreading, that it is weird to come home and see posters of yourself all over town, but added that he was grateful for all the support he has received.

The former teacher said:

“Knowing that your face is plastered across the town is a little bit weird but I am just so grateful for all the support that people in Reading have given me and I am hoping to be able to do a free gig in the town for everyone at some point around Christmas.

“It won’t be in a bar or a club because I want the kids to be able to come too, but it all depends on what happens in the next few weeks really.”

Speaking of how the negative media attention has affected him, Danyl said:

“It affects my friends and family more than me because I don’t really read it. But if they are saying things about your personal life then it means they have nothing to say about your vocals but still want to talk about you. You have to take a positive out of everything.”

He added: “You can only be you and if you get criticised for that just carry on being that person because at least they have something to say about you.”
