Danyl Johnson is favourite to get the boot from this week’s X Factor, however he is hoping that years of Michael Jackson impersonations will help swing the public vote.

Danyl’s childhood friend revealed that the singer used to be obsessed with Michael Jackson and spent hours perfecting his moonwalk and crotch grabbing moves.

Ryan Dick told The Sun: “Danyl and I were mad about Michael. Every chance we had we’d practise our Moonwalks and sing Thriller and Billie Jean.”

Ryan said: “When we were about ten, we’d do it for about two or three hours a night. He will be in his element this week. He’s certainly had enough practice as a kid trying to be Michael. Everyone already knows he can sing, but he can dance like Michael too.”

Ryan also revealed that Danyl performed a Jacko routine at a school show, aged only nine.

He said: “It went down an absolute storm. We’d always argue over who was the best. I must admit he was very good.”
