X Factor: Danyl Johnson like marmite?
Simon Cowell has expressed concerns that Danyl Johnson will divide the British public, if he reaches the live shows.
At the judges houses stage of the series, which airs this weekend, Danyl sang the Alicia Keys hit ‘Fallin’. Simon Cowell commented: “A little bit over the top, but he is good.”
Sinitta asked: “Do you think some people will love him, some people will hate him?”
Cowell replied: “Yeah, he’s Marmite.”

Can’t stand him. Prefer Stacey Solomon or Jamie Archer. He is plain ugly and really cannot sing well. A performer he is, but beyond that he is NOT my cup of tea.
I thought he was really good at the auditions, tonight he
did not give such a good performance but apparently on ITV2
he gave a really good performance. I think he deserves to be
in the finals.
This creature is sooooooo over the top. Its supposed to be a talent show for amateurs and he thinks he is something. All his facial contortions, fake American accent and gyrations wont win the X Factor. Just gimme someone who can stand there and sings. That’s talent!

Danyl Johnson is the best! True he is over the top but thats just because he used to do musicals which are MEANT to be over the top! He is a born performer and hearing him sing live is actually very different to hearing it on TV. He is a very soulful voice

I think he sounds like he is being tortured. And sometimes I can hardly even understand the lyrics, they are that distorted. Its a form of ear rape and ought to be banned. Or at least punished in some horrible way. Vote Danyl to the Stocks?

Danyl is fantastic!! brilliant voice and an entertainer.
He has been singing since he was a very young boy, this makes him confident, not cocky.
I think eveyone else in the contest bar maybe Jamie is mediocre and one hit wonders.

Danyl leaves me cold. He’s a great performer but often seems out of tune. He lacks the warmth of Jamie or the boy next door appeal of Olly. And he’s always out of tune!!Jamie, Joe and Olly all have much better vocals. He also seems very calculating and manipulative – like his mentor – clever but ultimately not at all likeable. I totally understand why the public don’t like him and I don’t either. Louis had it right last week – loads of talent but no likeability.
Totally agree with Maz – Danyl is fantastic. He has been attacked with personal comments week after week, with the judges claiming nobody likes him – and then Cheryl has the audacity to say he needs to put up with it and just “get on with it” – while she is busy slamming him every week. He sings a damn site better than she does!!! I think Olly is the cocky one – swanning about in his underpants in the house and pulling his shirt off on stage – yuk! Poor Danyl, no wonder he lost it last night after all the negative comments he has had – don’t listen Danyl, they are just jealous because you are so much better than them!!! I think you are VERY likeable – love you alove marmite!

Danyl is superb. The best singer/performer on x factor to-date. Incredibly talented.
Cheryl should be taken out of X factor. She’s not good enough as a judge. A bit pathetic really.
