X Factor star Danyl Johnson has reacted to reports that he is is cocky, arrogant and prone to diva strops.

In an interview with The Sunday Mirror Danyl reasoned that people had such a positive reaction to his first audition, that the subsequent backlash was wholly inevitable.

He said: “I see it as balance because in the beginning the reaction to me was massive and it had to balance out. Everyone puts so much expectation on you and any little things that happen people jump on.

“Life is difficult for everyone no matter what you do. You have to try and take it on the chin. You have bad days and then amazing days to pick yourself up.”

However Danyl admitted he is prone to the odd diva tantrum. “I guess we have all had them,” he laughed. “I did leave the recording studio last week and was upset and crying over my song choice. We just didn’t have the song right. But Simon knows exactly what he wants from me. He and I chatted and got the song right in the end.”
