X Factor star, Danyl Johnson has been reunited with his father, who he has been estranged from for a number of years.

Danyl’s dad Owen told Closer magazine: “We’re getting on a lot better now, the rift is healing. I’m so pleased I’ve got my son back in my life and I’m sure he’ll go all the way on The X Factor.

“I’m very proud of him. I’ve been watching him every week. Even if he was singing on his own in a pub I would watch him.”

But Danyl’s mum Maria wasn’t so sure.

She claimed: “Danyl’s dad behaved in a very silly way over tying up the loose ends of our marriage. The whole episode left the kids quite angry with him.

“If Danyl has started speaking to him again, that’s between him and his father but we don’t discuss it.”
