X Factor: Elton John / Take That Theme this week
X Factor judge Dannii Minogue has revealed that this week’s X Factor theme will be Elton John and Take That. With their numbers dwindling, the remaining contestants will sing two songs on Saturday night’s show, one from each pop legend. Check out their song choices here.
In response to a follower on twitter who wanted Stacey Solomon to sing a Barbara Streisand song, Minogue said:
I love Steisand and she can certainly sing those kind of huge songs, but I have to follow the theme! Elton/Take That this week!
She later confirmed:

A show source told The Sun: “The plan is for the acts to do one up-tempo number and a more ballady one to show off both sides of their voices.
“Learning two songs is killing them.”
“Brian is having to come up with loads of energetic dance routines for them.
“Some, like Olly and Danyl, are convinced that the key to their survival is down to them having a big performance.”
The worst part about this announcement, is the fact that we already know that the gorgeous Take That won’t be performing on the show, this week we’ll have Rihanna and Alicia Keys instead.
What would you guys like to see your favourite contestant sing? Danyl has been promised an upbeat number so ‘Could It Be Magic’ or Relight My Fire’ perhaps? We’d love to hear Joe McElderry sing ‘Patience.’ Leave your suggestions below….

NO, Joe can’t sing Patience, Stacey has to do it!!! (but oh god, just rememberd Diana Vickers sang it, I so didn’t want to remember that, couldn’t bear her voice!)

Yes it will be nice for Danyl to sing Your song – Elton John. But, as regards Take That I think Danyl will be great with Rule the world.
Dont give Joe another ballad, he needs to push himself to sing other stuff, its typical to give him songs he can give power to just like Danyl has done. Be good to see Joe do an up tempo song and dance around too like Olly has done, that would be more entertaining.

Stacey should do:
Sacrifice and Never Forget
Olly should sing Relight My Fire as this would be perfect for him
I think for Elton John he should sing Your Song as this is what got him through Boot Camp 
Joe is amazing and will be able to handle any song thrown at him, but I do agree that he should get an upbeat one, something like Shine or even Never Forget. Not too sure for the Elton John song though.
I don’t think anyone should attempt Paitence. Do we all remember Diana Vickers … No one wants that again!!

Danyl definitely needs an upbeat song so that we can see
him dance. One ballad but not two. I sincerely hope
he pulls it off this week as he’s got the talent.
Some of the others are masked by dancers and backing
singers. Joe can sing though. My votes go to those
two. Stacey a bit samey nothing different every week.
Olly not good – vocals weak. Lloyd sang much better
than him last week – listen to ‘Wake me up’ – Lloyd
follows Olly and you can hear the difference!
