X Factor singer Joe McElderry has denied rumours that he will be singing with Girls Aloud if he makes next week’s final.

Speaking to the The Jarrow and Hebburn Gazette Joe said:

“That’s something that has to be quashed – it’s not true. It would have been an obvious choice, but the girls have been so supportive. The support I have been getting has been amazing and I couldn’t believe it when Alicia Keys said she thought I was the best.

“These are A-list celebrities saying they enjoy my performances.”
