X Factor: First look at Cher Lloyd’s ‘Want U Back’ American version (PICTURES & VIDEO)
Cher Lloyd has prepackaged her hit single ‘Want U Back’ fresh for the American market, in the hopes that she can crack the states.
The 18 year old singer – who shot to fame when she finished fourth on the 2010 series of The X Factor UK – previously released a version of the track which featured X Factor USA star Astro. However, on the day that she jets across the Atlantic, to begin her assault on the US charts, her team have released a new video for the song.
It was previously reported that Lloyd would replace Astro with Snoop Dogg, however in the recently revealed video, the track appears now to be a solo effort.
Cher only returned from a holiday with her fiance Craig Monk this week, but last night she revealed that she was packing again and jetting off to New York today, for a round of promotional interviews and performances.
After One Direction and The Wanted ruled the American charts last month, it is believed that Cher’s record label is keen for her to follow in their footsteps and X Factor America judge LA Reid is pushing hard to make her the next big British success story.
The video certainly plays up to her reputation as the ‘brat queen’ and in the film she is seen throwing her milkshake over a love rival, dancing on the tables of a diner and ends up in a police car and later a police station, having her mug shot taken.
She doesn’t look too penitent either and smirks, as she is handcuffed and taken away.
