X Factor: Former bandmate says ‘Danyl Johnson has always been a diva!’

A former bandmate of X Factor’s Danyl Johnson has claimed that the singer has always been prone to diva like episodes, but insisted that he does feel remorseful afterwards.

After Danyl had a hissy fit over his song choice for this week’s show, Tim Bland, 27, who sang in boyband 2Tone with Danyl told The People: “I’m not surprised Danny walked out on Wednesday. It reminded me of all the times he threw a tantrum with us.

“Danyl is like a pressure cooker. He allows the stress, which is often over something minor, to build up for a long time and then bang – he explodes and all his anger floods out.

“But after a while the enormity of his actions would sink in. And I’m sure, if he reacts as he used to do when we were in the band together, he will now be full of remorse.

“When it happened with us, he cried uncontrollably and within hours would be back like a little puppy dog with his tail between his legs begging for forgiveness.”

He added:

“In the band he was incredibly emotional and would cry if someone criticised one of his songs or said something he didn’t like.

“It’s just how he is. With Danyl, the bigger the highs, the more devastating the lows. He is always on edge.”
