X Factor: Gordon Brown doesn’t really hate John and Edward Grimes!

Gordon Brown has made an attempt to retract his derogatory comments made about X Factor’s John and Edward Grimes last week. In a radio interview, Brown branded the boys as ‘not very good’, Labour then followed up by producing a mocked-up poster of David Cameron and George Osborne as the Irish teenagers under the slogan: “You won’t be laughing if they win.”
However in typical politician style, Gordon Brown has done a bit of a back track and told This Morning:
“I got into a bit of a problem because I said I did not think they were very good at singing but they are very good at other things.”
“I don’t know who’s going to win but I rather burned my boats with Jedward.”
The Prime Minister said he shared his young sons’ view that Stacey Solomon was “very good”.
But proving that you just can’t pretend to be down with the kids, Gordon made a faux pas when he added: “Daryl they like; Stacey they like.”
Daryl? Surely you mean Danyl Mr Brown?
