John and Edward turned 18 today (Friday 16th October) – a cake had been delivered to the house by ITV2’s The Xtra Factor which the contestants shared.

The contestants continue to receive daily visits from fans and are collecting a sizeable amount of fan mail – including a microphone for Rikki and a big shrine to Danyl made up of pictures of him and loveheart drawings. The neighbours have brought round cupcakes and cookies. Rikki was left humbled when he realised that people had flown down especially from Scotland to make a vigil at the house to see him.

Unfortunately for Rikki though his fellow contestants aren’t particularly pleased with him after he broke the washing machine earlier this week. The contestants are anxious that it gets fixed soon as they are running out of clean clothes to wear!

John and Edward are proving to be fans of cereal – it is their meal of choice in the house and this week they got through a whole box of Frosties and Coco Pops between them.
