X Factor Group Performance: ‘Queen Of The Night’

I LOVE the X Factor group performances and I love the fun that it brings to the Sunday night show. It’s kind of cool that our British show is, bit by bit, turning into American Idol and every week the show seems to get bigger and bigger.

Tonight’s group performance was Whitney Houston’s ‘Queen Of The Night.’ In case you don’t remember the track, it’s the one that Whitney sang during her movie ‘The Bodyguard’. To be more specific, it’s the song that Whitney sang in the nightclub scene where she needed to be rescued by big, strong Kevin Costner.

The remaining 11 acts (soon to be 10) emerged onto the stage and this really was the girl’s song. Rachel Adedeji, in particular looked mega comfortable with the whole strong and sassy woman vibe, while Miss Frank also gave it a lot of attitude. Lucie Jones and Stacey Solomon seemed to sing well enough (though I’m not entirely sure that it was live), but they looked like little girls trying to be women. It didn’t sit well with me, however it was nice to see Stacey doing something upbeat for a change.

What did you think of tonight’s group sing? Who stood out for you?
