Harry Styles certainly has the cutest smile and possibly the best hair out of all the One Direction boys and it seems that some people think this is enough to make him the group’s frontman.

It has been reported that US record label bosses have asked the newly single curly haired cutie – who is celebrating his 18th birthday today – if he would take the lead in the boyband and industry bigwigs think the group will be more successful stateside, if Harry takes on a more prominent role.

The boys are currently in America, performing for fans and taping a cameo appearance on Nickelodeon’s iCarly and when it airs, don’t be surprised if Styles has the most lines.

‘They decided long ago that Harry is a natural front man,’ an insider commented.

‘He’s funny, confident and has a great voice.’

However a source close to Harry, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson says that the boys intend to stick together and will tell bosses that they don’t want a lead singer or front man.

‘They are determined to carry on the way they have been – without a lead singer,’ a friend tells Daily Star.

‘Harry certainly hasn’t asked for all this attention.’

This intent to push Harry into the spotlight certainly does explain the reports that it was his management team that forced him to break up with Caroline Flack last week. It was claimed yesterday that Simon Cowell and SYCO thought that he would be more appealing to his young fans if he was single and told him to dump his sugar mamma.

Meanwhile, Harry certainly did get spoiled for his birthday and even though he isn’t in the country, this morning his mum tweeted out a picture of his gifts and cards that will be waiting when he returns to the UK.
