Now I may be way off the mark with this one but during Saturday night’s X Factor final I was getting a little hint of the romance between judges Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole.

The way she lay with her head on his shoulder, the way the two of them joked and smiled throughout and then Cheryl had that little Freudian slip during the winners press conference afterwards.

When asked how she felt after Alexandra Burke won the show, Cheryl told of how she did a victory dance around Simon Cowell’s BED!

The Girls Aloud star said: “I went backstage and did a victory dance around his bed . . .” She quickly backtracked, saying: “Around his bedroom? Oh my God, slip of the tongue! Around his dressing room I mean," but the damage was done don’t you think?

Think about it, the pair have been practically inseparable this series, to the obvious distress of Dannii Minogue, and there have nothing but glowing reports about Cheryl coming from Simons lips……he may be a bit old for her but all that money and power has to be worth something doesn’t it?
