X Factor: Jamelia Slams Leona Lewis
Pop singer Jamelia has spoken out about X Factor contestant leona today, much to the dismay of her mentor, Simon Cowell.
Jamelia told Hit 40 UK: “Leona’s great, she’s has an amazing voice but she’s a bit Mariah Carey circa 1990. I don’t know how she will fit into the music industry.”
Simon Cowell, hit back saying: “I am getting very angry. Someone is trying to get at Leona through launching a dirty tricks campaign.”
He told The Sun: “It is completely unnecessary – Leona is a very talented girl and this is all very unfair.”

I thought Leona was great from the first audition and there was no doubt she would go far. It speak for itself if the a top producer from america who produces for Whitney is interested to work with her. Leona top class and we need someone like her for england.
Jamelia needs to stop drinking all that Hatorade and get into the Studio and mind her business….Talent is coming your way girl so instead of hating…do some recording and hope that you will get a second hit…by the way what was your first hit? I think Leona has been fabulous I have watched her all the wasy since X factor began and her performances alot more memorable

I think that leonna is fantastic and that Jamelia should be careful ( free speech and all) BUT there could be a leonna fan backlash ( meaning that jamelia could have lost a few of her own fans) Shes like the ‘green eyed monster’ Good luck Leonna and dont listen to her.. your what the UK in 2006 … and so on needs! Jamelia has had lots of hits and albums, I that was in the chart for near a year, I’ll take Jamelia over Leona any day to watch ‘live’ but both have great voices.Rod.

Unfortunately, Leona is not going to make it as a singer. I mean pop singer. I don’t think it’s a big loss, but I can bet – in this case, Jamelia is right, whatever her motives are. Voice is just sine qua pro non, but not enough; Leona is alredy advertising sofas. But again – everybody is advertising something for money these days; may be I also would, but nobody pays me, alas!
