X Factor: Janet Devlin, Misha B and Marcus Collins get ear pieces for live shows

All of the final six X Factor contestants will finally be given ear pieces for their live performances it has been reported.

Stars have used them for their live performances on the ITV show for years but up until now, contestants have not been awarded the technology….until tonight that is.

This year’s X Factor final will be staged in Wembley Arena and in a bid to get the final six ready for the huge gig, bosses have revealed that they will be using ‘in ear monitoring’ for every remaining live show in the run up to the finale.

X Factor Talent Development legend Eliot Kennedy told ITV.com:

“Ask any performing musician, from the moment you start to use ‘in ear monitoring’ your life is never the same. You can pitch easier, and the balance between vocal and music is like listening to an iPod.”

We’ll be glued to our screens tonight, to see if the technology makes any difference to the contestants’ performances, and we imagine that Little Mix will benefit the most from being able to hear their backing track and fellow singers more clearly.

On tonight’s live episode, the X Factor stars will be singing songs from the movies. Read more about the theme and possible song choices here.
